This world is full of competition and this competition becomes a headache for many middle class students. In this article we will discuss some important reasons behind our failure in competitive exams. This article will mainly focus on middle class students because middle class students are the one who mainly suffer in this world full of competition. The reasons mentioned below are of my personal experience and being a middle class student I have felt this pain very deeply. Let's discuss the reasons one by one.
1. No Direction
Students start preparing for competitive exams without any guidance. This problem is common somewhat among backward and middle class students. They don't know from where they should start preparing for the exams. They just start studying without knowing the requirements of the exam which leads to their failure at the end. To overcome these problems students should first understand the syllabus and previous year question papers of the exam for which they want to prepare. Students can also get guidance from the people who have already cracked the same exam.
2. No Consistency
Students often study for a few days and then they stop studying because of getting bored or some other problems. If you want to crack any exam then you have to be consistent. You have to make goals for days , weeks as well as for months. Take a copy and a pen and write down your goal for a day and complete it anyhow and set goals for weeks and months too. Keep your goal very low in the starting otherwise you will get bored. For example, make your goal for this Monday. Write down the things that you will cover this day like two topics from geography and two topics from General Science. After mentioning your goal on the paper, complete it that day. After completing your goal you will feel happiness at the end and this will motivate you. In starting try to study less and increase it onwards. If you fail to achieve your goal it will create some frustration so make goals that you can achieve. Don't be in a hurry. Success is not something that can be achieved in a single day and you have to put in continuous effort.
3. No Knowledge Of Relevant Resources
Many students start studying from the books that are not relevant to your exam and at the end they achieve nothing except failure and sadness. Do proper research on books and choose only those books which are related to your exam and keep the rest of the books aside and don't even touch them. If you work on limited resources then you can be safe otherwise reading from too many books aimlessly is just a time wasting process. For example if you are studying for general science and after a research you found that only NCERT of class 9th and 10th are useful for your exam then stick to it and don't study other books of general science because it will create confusion and also it will waste you time
4. Ups And Downs
Ups and downs are common among students but only few students pass through them and those who deal with ups and downs with patience, achieve success at the end. During your journey you will face many days of sadness and you will feel very down But you have to keep patience and this patience has very sweet fruits for you at the end. Don't feel demotivated and if your sadness is crossing the limits then don't study on that day, leave the books and go somewhere where you can achieve some mental peace. After getting good, start the journey again with the same interest and motivation.
These ups and downs will make you or break you and the whole thing is in your hands.
5. Financial Problems
Some students face many financial problems and they get depressed due to this and at the end they feel it difficult to study. The best tip to get some rest from this problem is to make your expenses minimum. It will help you a little bit if you make your expenses minimum so that you can survive in such financial problems. Remember preparing for exams is your battle and you have started it by yourself and you have to fight it on your own. These financial problems will end soon but you have to keep working.
6. Family Pressure
This problem is mainly with middle class students and also students belonging to backward areas suffer from the same. In backward areas our parents don't even know about these competitive exams and expecting from them something is just a time wasting process. They will force you to go and do some work but here is the turning point. I will suggest ways to get rid of this problem.
1. If you have a stable financial condition at your home then don't go for a job amid this family pressure but motivate your parents that you are getting a job very soon. You can also tell them that you are at home for a fixed time at home and then you will go for some work. In this way they will be satisfied somewhat
2. If you are having a very weak financial problem at your home and you can't study amid this tension then it is better to find a part time job and prepare with the job simultaneously.
